Donald (Donny) L. McGrath Jr., CPA

Donny was born in the Atlanta area, grew up in Cobb County, and now lives in Acworth, Georgia. He graduated from Georgia State University in 1979 with a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree with a major in Accounting. Donny joined Moore & Cubbedge in 1980 as an audit associate. He was admitted as a Partner in 1985. He is currently the Managing Partner of the firm, and shares audit practice management responsibilities with Tammy Galvis.

Donny works with local governments, private businesses and not-for-profit organizations in the roles of auditor and consultant. He also provides litigation support and forensic accounting services to small business owners. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants, the Government Finance Officers Association, the Georgia Government Finance Officers Association, and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.

Donny is also very active in community organizations. He served on the board of directors of Cobb Family Resources, Inc. in the roles of president and treasurer and currently serves on the board of directors of the Cobb County Youth Museum as a treasurer and is also a past president. He served as treasurer of the board of directors of his church, Living Hope Lutheran Church in Kennesaw, is a member of the Marietta Kiwanis Club, and a member of the Leadership Cobb Alumni Association.

Donny has a lovely wife, Kim, and three daughters and two step sons, who keep Kim and him very busy. In his spare time, he enjoys being outdoors – whether it’s hunting, fishing, beach trips, or yard work.

Tammy A. Galvis, CPA

Tammy grew up in Paulding County and now lives in Kennesaw, Georgia. Tammy graduated from the University of Georgia in 1991 with a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree with a major in Accounting. Tammy joined Crace Galvis McGrath, LLC (formerly Moore & Cubbedge, LLP) in 1994 and was admitted as a partner in 2004. She currently shares responsibility for managing the audit practice of the firm with Donny McGrath.

Tammy works with local governments, private businesses, employee benefit plans, and not-for-profit organizations, in the role of auditor and consultant. Tammy is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants, the Government Finance Officers Association, and the Georgia Government Finance Officers Association.

Tammy served as a Board member of the Cobb County Chamber of Commerce and was the past Chair of the Finance Committee. She serves as Treasurer on the Board of Directors of the Marietta/Cobb Museum of Art, is a member of the Marietta Kiwanis Club, and a member of the Leadership Cobb Alumni Association.

Tammy and her husband, Julian, love to travel and spend time with their Weimaraners Blu and Bella.

Christopher M. Bailey, CPA MTX

Chris was born in Anniston, Alabama and grew up in the north Georgia mountain town of Blue Ridge. Chris attended the University of Georgia where he earned a Master of Accountancy degree with a specialization in taxation. Chris enjoys hunting, fishing, woodworking and dabbles in real estate renovation. Chris and his wife Margaret have two daughters, Emma and Elaina and live in Acworth. Chris serves on the Cobb Chamber of Commerce finance committee, is treasurer of the Rotary Club of Marietta and is an active member of Burnt Hickory Baptist Church.

Chris joined the firm in 2005 and became a partner in March 2012. He specializes in corporate, partnership, trust & estate and individual taxation.

Denise A. O’Connell, CPA MAcc

Denise was born in Port Huron, Michigan, but quickly adapted to life in the south after moving to Cobb County as a pre-schooler. She was raised, married and bought her first house in Powder Springs. Never leaving Cobb, she also lived in Marietta and Acworth but settled in Kennesaw, Georgia seven years ago. Denise began her accounting career at 12 years old assisting her mother with bookkeeping. Formalizing her education, she graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting in 1993 soon followed by a Masters in Accounting both from Kennesaw State University. She joined the firm in 2002 as the Accounting Manager and became a partner with the firm in March of 2012.

She now specializes in tax, accounting and general business consulting and helps individuals, business owners, small businesses, not-for-profit organizations, and trusts. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants (GSCPA). She is currently a member of the GSCPA’s Council as well as serves as chair of the Professional Ethics Committee. At the local level, she serves as a board member of the GSCPA North Atlanta Chapter and is the only member to have served as President twice in the history of the chapter (winning Chapter of the year both times).

Denise is also active in her church and local community. She currently serves on the board of MUST Ministries, Inc. chairing the Audit Committee, Kennesaw State University’s School of Accounting Council, president elect of North Cobb Civitan Club, and Treasurer of the Georgia District Civitan Foundation, Inc. After completing the maximum number of terms allowed for a board member of the YWCA of Northwest Georgia, she remains active as a finance committee member. She continues to volunteer and serve on various committees and projects bettering our community.

Denise and her husband, Robert, enjoy spending time with their two sons currently attending Kennesaw State University and Georgia Institute of Technology. As parents of two cross county and track runners, they can’t help but be involved with various physical activities. In addition to family time and running events, Denise enjoys reading, tennis, scrapbooking, traveling and playing with her two Labrador Retrievers, Maverick and Magnum.
